Cute Prayer

Kylea's prayer at lunch the other day:
"Dear Heavenly Fader,
Thank you for bood (food).
Thank you for glessings (blessings).
Thank you for 2 grammas and 2 grandpas.
Aaaaamen."

December Update

Wow! Where do I begin? So I know I'm super late with these December posts, but I've been working on them for...well, forever and I would just skip ahead to the present, but I do want to get this blog printed out into a book someday so I figured I should have some record of these past 4 months...even if I am ridiculously late in posting them.

December was packed full of events...some good and some not so good. But through it all, we have gained a greater appreciation for life and how truly blessed we are. We are so grateful for all of our friends and family who have helped us get through some tough times these past few months. We love you guys!

As soon as December came, we brought out the decorations and decorated our little, fake tree. Kylea was so excited to help me decorate our home with Christmas cheer.

She tried to blow out the Christmas lights too...so funny! We saw Santa several times this month. The first time was in a parade at the Short Pump Mall with the Wolfs. We went for the huge Christmas tree lighting and then visited Aaron at CPK for a yummy dinner. Kylea knew all about Santa from the Christmas books we read at home so the first thing she said when she saw him was "He has a big belly." She also said, "Ho, ho ho! Merry Christmas!"

This is really how we found her sleeping. She was just a little excited for Christmas, dont' you think! :)

Tinkerbell

Kylea was SO excited to watch her first real Disney movie with us. She loves Tinkerbell, but she only lasted about 20 minutes and then she was on to bigger and better things, like coloring and playing with her dolls, haha! It was fun while it lasted!

Birthday Celebrations

Kylea and I went with Christen & Skye on my birthday to the rec center for a Christmas activity. I think the girls' favorite part was being silly and giggling by the Christmas tree...too cute!

Jon & Kylea, da Wolfs, Ken & Lindsay and Aaron & Drew all surprised me (a week early...so sneaky) with a fun birthday party and a delicious Cafe Rio dinner! Thanks you guys!

I got to celebrate again with some great girls (Rachel, Rebecca, Alyson & Christen) at Chilis. We ate a yummy chocolate dessert and talked until they kicked us out (oops!). Thanks again girls!

Then Jon & I celebrated again at my favorite restaurant, Red Robin! Yes, I was definitely spoiled this year. Love you Babe! Thanks for a wonderful birthday!

More December

Before our trip to California, we celebrated our own little Christmas here in Virginia. It was so fun to see Kylea get so excited about her stocking and her presents from Santa. Some of her favorite gifts were a Dora DVD and memory game, Hello Kitty towel, and Little Mermaid book.

Christmas in California

We had so much fun spending the holidays with family in California. Thanks for letting us come visit and for all the fun times everyone! Kylea loved spending time with Grammy & Grandpa and all her aunties and uncles.
We miss you already!

Check out the collages below for more pics from our trip!

Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum in Palm Desert and couldn't believe that we were celebrating Christmas and decorating gingerbread houses in such amazing weather.

Holiday Dinner

We got to spend the day with my aunties, uncles, cousins and Gram in Yucca Valley, CA and ate a yummy holiday dinner. It was so nice to see everyone and the food was delish, as usual. My Auntie Cher and Uncle Tony made their famous homemade soups and we had fun hanging out in their beautiful new home, which my uncle built. We had fun laughing and exchanging gifts...and Kylea got spoiled again with a fun princess dress-up box, stuffed animals and books. We love you Hicks', Simmons', Gram, Pops, and Grbavachs and can't wait to see you again!

Makeovers

My sis-in-law, Sydney, is an amazing makeup artist. We visited her work and she gave us all makeovers on Christmas Eve. Love you girl! L to R: Vanessa, Drew, Syd & Lis

Knotts Berry Farm

My Auntie Cher gave us tickets to Knotts for Christmas. Thanks again auntie! :) We had so much fun seeing Snoopy and going on rides that made us scream our guts out! We went with Jon's bro, Ryan, my bro, Todd, and Kylea.

Kylea's favorite ride was the log ride, which is actually a pretty scary ride for a 2-year-old! We read the sign and it sounded like a "kid friendly" ride, but there's a part when you're completely in the dark, floating along in the log and there are 2 major drops that get you pretty soaked. I thought for sure that Kylea would be screaming and crying at the end, but she just looked at us with a big smile on her face with soaked hair and clothes and said, "Again!" So we took her again and she loved it just like the first time. She is definitely the thrill seeker in the family, haha!
