We're going on a leaf hunt...

This is one of Kylea's favorite fall books and mine too! :) The past couple of months out here in Virginia have been beautiful with all the fall leaves and the warm weather, but it's quickly getting colder and colder and the leaves are disappearing. We had many fun days of hunting and collecting them.

...and we even found a "very hungry caterpillar."
Fall is amazing out here on the east coast, but we're ready for winter, hot cocoa and spending time with family and friends for the holidays.

Time Out for 2 minutes!

I just had to post these funny sayings...
So we were driving home the other day and Jon was just being silly and singing the Elmo's World song really loud (I know, Jon singing...it's rare and when it happens it ain't pretty, haha j/k babe!). Anyway, so then Kylea said, "No Dada. Too loud. When we get home time out for 2 minutes." I almost died laughing!
She also tells us (Jon and I both) "Good girl" when we clean up or do something good. Jon is trying to teach her to say "Good boy" for Dada, haha. :)
After kicking and screaming in the car for what seemed like forever, we pulled into the Toys R Us parking lot and Kylea stopped screaming & said, "Yay! I'm happy again!" :)

Rockin' the Lounge

Last month, Jon and his dental school pals rocked the dental school lounge with a Sublime remix. Rudy (singer) wrote some new lyrics for the song "What I Got," which had everyone laughing and Jon, Nate and Pete threw down some mad beats. It was fun to see Jon play in a band again. It brought back memories of the good old days in Hawaii.

Daddy and Ea

Here are a few cute pics of Jon & Kylea before church. Kylea loves her Daddy so much! She follows him around everywhere and loves to just be by him! P.S. Notice the pink pumpkin...it never leaves her hand! She doesn't eat the candy because she doesn't know what it is yet, but she loves to keep it safely inside. :)

Ravin' in our new Rav4

So I totally forgot to post that we got a new car!...well, a new "used" car! :) We looked at it before Kylea and I left on our trip to the NW and Jon made the deal while we were gone. It's a 2004 and we got a really good deal on it! It even gets better gas mileage than our Camry. It's so great having 2 cars, especially now that Jon's schedule is so random. It's nice that he can come home if he finishes early (which is rare), but hey it's still nice to be able to see him a little bit more. Kylea loves the new car too! She says "Let's go in Mama's white car and Dada's black car."

Trick-or-Treat!

Kylea, Eliza & Sadie getting ready to trick-or-treat! Mark, Sadie, Ashley, Lis, Kylea and scary Jon...The Olsens invited us to Hanover Street to check out the houses decked out in Halloween decor (which I didn't get any good pics of because it was too dark, but oh well). Aaron & Drew came too. It was lots of fun! Kylea caught on to the whole trick-or-treating thing real quick. She filled her pink pumpkin with lots of yummies and even shared them with us on the car ride home...what a sweetie!

A morning of music

After 2 time outs and 3 attempts to get in her carseat, we finally made it to the Music Time Halloween Party. Does anyone else have that wonderful problem or am I the lucky one? ;) For some reason, Kylea refuses to get in her carseat, even if we're going some place fun that she wants to go to, like the Halloween Party! I don't get it...I guess it's just part of being 2. Anyway, she had a great time at the party and loved the cookies with orange filling. It's so funny because she sings all the music time songs at home, but when we're at singing time she is so shy. I know, Kylea...shy!?! It's really weird. It was fun to see all the kiddos in their cute costumes and the treats were delish! Yay for singing time! :)

An afternoon at the museum

As soon as we walked into the Children's Museum, Kylea said "Oh wow!" The girl could spend days at this place! She was very excited that her buddy, Dylan, was able to come with us. They spent most of their time at the water tables and the grocery store, scanning food items at the registers! Kylea also made a TP roll bat, which she was very proud of! :) Thanks for the fun afternoon Emily and Dylan! :)

An evening of birthday

Lindsay & Ken...We got to celebrate our cuz, Ken's birthday at Aaron & Drew's house with a delicious cake!Lindsay, Ken, Aaron, Drew, Jon & Rudy...Earlier this month, we also got to celebrate our bro, Aaron's birthday with another yummy lemon cake made by Drew! October is definitely the birthday month around here! :)
