Darn itchies and allergies!
I don't think I've ever posted about Kylea's crazy allergies. After a scary run in with peanut butter a little after her 1st birthday, we took her to an allergist to get tested. It was one of the scariest things I've ever experienced! I gave Kylea a little piece of bread with peanut butter on it and she immediately started coughing, broke out in huge hives all over and her ears turned bright red. I took her to the emergency doc and she recommended that we see an allergist and sent us home with Epipens.
We found out that she's allergic to nuts, milk, eggs, garlic, carrots and watermelon.
She is also mildly allergic to beef, chicken, pork, pears, white grapes, corn, cauliflower, white potato, onion, malt, oats, cinnamon, mustard and tomatoes so we're supposed to limit and rotate these foods each week...did you catch all that?!?
It took us awhile to memorize the list and find foods that she could eat, but it has gotten a little easier.
She's such a trooper putting up with all these allergies and the itchies that come along with them! We just hope and pray that she grows out of them soon.
And as if all her allergies and eczema aren't enough, Kylea was diagnosed with RAD (Reactive Airway Disease) last summer and uses a nebulizer occasionally when she has trouble breathing. She was scared at first and it was a pain to get her to stay still and take the treatments, but she actually does her "nebbies" by herself now.

Our little artist! Jon drew a fish and then Kylea drew one too...not bad for a 2 year old huh!
We formed a little preschool/playgroup in our neighborhood so our girls could get together once a week for a few hours. We rotate hosting it and Kylea has really enjoyed it! Yay for preschool and great buddies!
Kylea's dream came true! She got to meet her most fave TV character, Dora and her cousin, Diego at the Children's Museum. Of course, she was very shy and ran away from them after we took a pic, but she was very excited about it afterward.

Best Friends Forever
Kylea came into the kitchen when I was cooking dinner and said,
"Mommy, you're my best friend." She then hugged me and of course, I melted.
I told her that she was my best friend too and she smiled real big.
I am so grateful for you, Miss Kylea, our little diva. You bring so much joy into our lives.

Kylea's prayer at lunch the other day:

December Update
Wow! Where do I begin? So I know I'm super late with these December posts, but I've been working on them for...well, forever and I would just skip ahead to the present, but I do want to get this blog printed out into a book someday so I figured I should have some record of these past 4 months...even if I am ridiculously late in posting them.
December was packed full of events...some good and some not so good. But through it all, we have gained a greater appreciation for life and how truly blessed we are. We are so grateful for all of our friends and family who have helped us get through some tough times these past few months. We love you guys!
As soon as December came, we brought out the decorations and decorated our little, fake tree. Kylea was so excited to help me decorate our home with Christmas cheer.
She tried to blow out the Christmas lights too...so funny! We saw Santa several times this month. The first time was in a parade at the Short Pump Mall with the Wolfs. We went for the huge Christmas tree lighting and then visited Aaron at CPK for a yummy dinner. Kylea knew all about Santa from the Christmas books we read at home so the first thing she said when she saw him was "He has a big belly." She also said, "Ho, ho ho! Merry Christmas!"
This is really how we found her sleeping. She was just a little excited for Christmas, dont' you think! :)
